SUMMARY:Stewarding Planned Gift Donors for 10\, 20 or 30 Years While Waiting for the Ultimate Gift
DESCRIPTION:Description\nThe donor you’ve worked with for years has finally documented their gift. Now what? Good stewardship serves to strengthen a donor’s relationship with your organization and is a vital part of a successful bequest program. As a result of recognition and good stewardship\, at a minimum your donors will keep the gift provision as a part of their estate plans – remember that a bequest is most often revocable and can be changed. \nThis session will explore ways to keep deferred giving donors engaged when faced with having to provide stewardship for 10+ years and how best to transfer these long-term relationships as staff change over time. \n  \nSpeakers\nApril Hampton Perez\, Senior Director of Development\, Southwestern University\, Georgetown\, TX and Maria Kruger\, Director of Stewardship\, Southwestern University\, Georgetown\, TX \nApril Hampton Perez \nApril joined the Southwestern University staff in 2013 and serves as the Senior Director of Development for Planned Giving.  She works with individuals by sharing gift planning options and opportunities so that they can make the most meaningful gift to Southwestern while meeting their personal and philanthropic goals.  April has more than 25 years of experience in higher education fundraising.
