SUMMARY:August 24\, 2026 Meeting
DESCRIPTION:More Information Coming Soon \n  \n  \nKent Weimer\, CAP®\, the retired Director of Trusts\, Estates and Gift Planning at Parkland Foundation in Dallas\, worked with donors and their advisors to make estate gifts\, create endowments or donate noncash assets. His expertise comes from 40+ years of experience in health care\, higher education\, and social service organizations. Kent has been involved in the NACGP for 26 years including leadership roles in Chicago and Dallas\, and is past national CGP board chair and treasurer. He is a frequent speaker at the national CGP conference\, regional CGP conferences and local councils. He served on the Dallas Estate Planning Council board of governors and is a volunteer facilitator for local CAP® study groups. Kent works part time as a Philanthropic Strategist for the Gary Sinise Foundation. \nSometimes gifts come with complications both legal and ethical. This session explores real life gift planning case studies in an interactive manner that includes an open dialogue on planning strategies while exploring the dilemmas and opportunities presented\, possible solutions\, along with the impacts on policies\, procedures and philosophy. The focus will be on outcomes that benefit the donor\, family and the charitable organization. The case studies will demonstrate how treasury regulations\, when not followed\, may lead to the donor losing their charitable deduction. \nRSVP for this luncheon
