Karen Ashworth joined the law firm of Saunders, Norval, Pargaman and Atkins, LLP in October, 2014. Her practice involves the preparation of wills, trusts and other estate planning documents as well as estate administration. Ms. Ashworth was raised in Austin and returned in 2011 to open a regional office for Cumberland Trust Company. She previously practiced law in Nashville, Tennessee and Birmingham, Alabama in the areas of estate planning and probate. She also administered trusts and estates for several financial institutions in Tennessee and Alabama.
Ms. Ashworth is a graduate of Rice University (B. A. Economics and Sociology), the University of Alabama at Birmingham (M. A. Sociology, Certificate in Gerontology) and the University of Alabama School of Law (J. D.). She is a member of the Alabama State Bar, the Tennessee Bar Association and the Estate Planning Council of Central Texas. She serves on the Seton Foundation Advisory Board and is also a board member for AGE of Central Texas as well as for the Planned Giving Council of Central Texas. She is currently licensed to practice law in Tennessee and Alabama and expects to be licensed in Texas in the near future.
