Be a Friend:  Building relationships for Impact Philanthropy

Building a strong and dynamic portfolio of gift planning prospects and donors is important in this profession. There are tools to use and concepts that can assist in this endeavor.  This session will provide some philosophy and practical tools for sustainable portfolio management.

 

Pamela Gray, Director of Philanthropy, Gift Planning started in September of 2023 at TMF. Prior to arriving, she was the National Personal Philanthropy Director at Disabled American Veterans (DAV) in Erlanger, Kentucky where she managed a team of eleven who focused on individual relationships and gift planning activities. Pamela also has served as the Senior Director of Philanthropy and Alumni at the University of Kentucky (UK), College of Agriculture, Food and Environment. Prior to her return to Kentucky in 2016, she worked as a Director, Gift Planning at Rice University in Houston, Texas. Pamela has over 29 years’ experience in planned giving, major gifts, marketing, public relations, special events, and fundraising data management from previous positions at the University of Denver, Boys and Girls Clubs, Alzheimer’s Association, National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Colorado Cattlemen’s Association, Colorado Historical Society and Denver Dumb Friends League (Humane Society of Denver, Inc.).

Pamela is involved as a member of the Association for Fundraising Professionals (AFP) and the National Association of Charitable Gift Planners (CGP). She serves on the Board of Directors for the Charitable Gift Planners of Austin as the Secretary. She is an active volunteer for the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, the humane society, and a member of Zeta Tau Alpha Fraternity local alumnae chapter.

Pamela holds a Master of Professional Studies degree in Leadership in Organizations from the University of Denver and a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Kentucky in Communications. In her free time, she likes to garden, hike, cook, listen to live music, go to sporting events and travel. She is married to Jason Williamson and her stepson Michael with be 6 in October 2024. Their family includes an Australian shepherd named Kona, a corgi named Rufus Weller, and two cats, Gigi, and Elsa Belle. She grew up on a dairy farm in Wisconsin.
