Michael D. Jansen, CFP
PGCCT President 2008, 2009, and 2010
Michael D. Jansen, MBA, CFP, Masters of Accountancy has been involved in the field of gift planning since 1983 after a successful career in accounting and banking. He discovered planned giving as a volunteer for his alma mater and got so hooked on the social good it represents that he made it his calling. He quickly learned from the best in the business at such places as the University of Notre Dame, Northwestern University, and other top institutions.
Mike continues to learn and grow, having earned his Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) designation decades ago, in addition to his MBA and Masters of Accountancy. He also founded the Illowa Partnership for Philanthropic Planning
and serves on the board of directors of the Lakeway/Lake Travis (Texas) Rotary club foundation, where he is also past president and a club board member. He has also served on a number of nonprofit finance councils and other nonprofit boards.
Mike’s approach to gift planning is that it should be handled like any other important business and life decision. Get the best advice possible; use the best information, experience and tools available; and maximize the benefits to all involved parties. Mike can take what originally may have been a good gift and turn it into a great, even a transformational gift.
