Lisa serves as Associate Director and Chief Development Officer for theBriscoe Center for American History at The University of Texas at Austin. She has over 20 years of professional experience in nonprofit fund development and executive leadership serving higher education, historic preservation, and arts and cultural organizations. Before working in development, Lisa was a museum educator.

In addition to the Planned Giving Council of Central Texas, Lisa serves on the Board of Directors of the Association of Fundraising Professionals – Greater Austin Chapter. She is involved in several organizations devoted to historic preservation and the study of Texas and American history. Lisa holds a B.A. from Baylor University and a M.Ed. from the University of Texas.

Lisa and her husband, Jeff Avra, have three human children: Scott, Griffin, and Jordan Elizabeth and one furry child: Ferghus MacAvra.
