The Value of a Giving Plan

In this interactive session, Dr. Alison Alter, an independent philanthropic advisor, will help you see the value of a giving plan and how it can serve as a particularly powerful tool for advancing planned giving and building meaningful relationships with your clients and donors.

Alison Alter, PhD, Independent Philanthropic Advisor, Alter Advising, LLC

Dr. Alison Alter offers independent, impartial advice to help people give confidently and pursue philanthropy more strategically. In her philanthropic advising practice (Alter Advising, LLC), Alison draws on over 20 years of experience working in higher education, the nonprofit sector and through public-private partnerships. Alison obtained her Ph.D. in Political Economy and Government at Harvard University and her B.A. in Public Policy from Stanford University. She also is a 21/64 certified multi-generational philanthropy consultant. Active in her community, Dr. Alter is a graduate of the 2015 Leadership Austin Essentials Class, chair of the Ramsey Park Renovation Committee, a member of the City of Austin’s Parks and Recreation Board, the Rosedale Neighborhood Association Steering Committee and Impact Austin. She is currently a candidate for the Austin City Council District 10 seat.
