Rhonda Brink

Rhonda H. Brink, J.D., is retired from the Austin, Texas law firm of Brink Bennett Pargaman Atkins + Sanchez. Her career focused on an estate and trust practice that addressed all aspects of family wealth management and disposition, with an emphasis on transfer tax planning.

She proudly served for many years on the Gift Planning Advisory Council of the University of Texas at Austin.  She is now teaching at the Universtiy of Texas McCombs School of Business, in the Wealth Management Program, currently presenting a course entitled Intergenerational Wealth Transfers.   She has relished making understandable and relevant the complex world of wills, trusts and transfer taxes for individuals, families, closely-held business owners, and entrepreneurs – and will continue to do so as with her students.

She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in economics from Trinity University in San Antonio and a J.D. degree from the University of Texas School of Law in Austin.  She is Board Certified in Estate Planning and Probate Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization and is a Fellow (the first female in Texas) of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel.

Rhonda has served in leadership positions in a number of legal professional and charitable organizations and has been a frequent author and speaker at state and national estate planning forums and continuing legal education events. Throughout her legal career, she had been awarded numerous professional recognitions including “Best Lawyers of America” and “Super Lawyer” in her field.  Capping that, Rhonda received the 2020 Distinguished Probate Attorney Lifetime Achievement Award from the Real Estate Probate and Trust Section of the State Bar of Texas.

Laura Hansen Dean

Laura Hansen Dean

Laura Hansen Dean, J.D., graduated magna cum laude from Indiana University School of Law and has 41 years of experience in charitable gift planning. A member of the state bar in both Texas and Indiana, she led the Gift and Estate Planning team at UT Austin during the We’re Texas campaign from 2007–2014. In October 2017, she returned to UT Austin as senior director of Gift Design and Documentation and now is the Advisor to the Assistant Vice President of Philanthropic Planning. She was inducted into the National Association of Charitable Gift Planners National Hall of Fame in 2018 and has assisted with charitable gifts that total more than $1 billion.
