Unlocking the “Perfect Gift”- Planned Giving’s Role in Major Giving Success
This session will discuss donor centered gift planning strategies for both current and deferred major gifts. This presentation will cover how to initiate gift planning conversations and overcome donor objections, and provide a review of commonly used strategies and when to apply them.

Kevin has been involved in gift planning for over 17 years. His experience includes positions of Vice President for Institutional Advancement for Kentucky Christian University, Director of Estate and Asset Services for the American Cancer Society and his current position as Executive Director of Development for the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center where he leads a team of planned giving and annual fund professionals.
Kevin’s talented team raises funds across the United States to support the mission and vision of MD Anderson Cancer Center. In support of over 125,000 patients and their families they provide critical resources for the brilliant physicians and researchers. Together they are Making Cancer History®.
Kevin received his undergraduate degree from Kentucky Christian University, earned a Master of Business Administration from the University of Houston and holds the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERTM certification. Kevin is an active member of his church, the Association of Fundraising Professionals, Partnership for Philanthropic Planning, its local chapter the Planned Giving Council of Houston and member of the Leadership Institute.
