Susan Staricka, Senior Attorney over Charitable Trusts, will share knowledge gained and recommendations intended to safeguard donor intent and avoid litigation resulting from poor draftsmanship.

Engaging Women in Planned Giving

You’ve seen the statistics: Today’s women are an active financial force—they earn, manage and distribute more wealth than ever before. Their importance as planned giving prospects shouldn’t be forgotten as it will continue to grow. Participants will learn how and why a woman’s approach to philanthropy can be different from that of a man, as well as where to spend time and money when targeting women. Through a selection of case studies that brought success to the Texas A&M Foundation’s planned giving program, Ms. Throne will convey practical ideas that can be implemented quickly and cost-effectively.

This session will discuss donor centered gift planning strategies for both current and deferred major gifts. This presentation will cover how to initiate gift planning conversations and overcome donor objections, and provide a review of commonly used strategies and when to apply them.

She is a philanthropy advisor and expert working with nonprofit executives for over 20 years. Fayruz has an extensive background, serving as the CEO of an international NGO, Psychology Beyond Borders, a Partner with Dini Partners, a national consulting firm, where she was the youngest in the firm to make Partner, Development Director with Ballet Austin, and the Associate Director of Annual Giving at her alma mater, Dickinson College in Carlisle, Pennsylvania. Now she has her own consulting practice, working with a variety of organizations at the local, national and international levels.
